Our client based in Swindon require 6 Wiring Operators to manufacture looms and harnesses.  They are a supplier to customers such as Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems and GKN Westlands.  The successful candidates will initially be taken on a 6 month fixed term contract.

The skills and experience you will need to perform your duties are as follows:

  • Knowledge of cable harnessing techniques including stripping, crimping, cable forming, connector assembly and use of heat shrink materials
  • An electrical background or qualification in an electrical discipline a distinct advantage
  • Excellent manual dexterity and the ability to work with hand tools a large part of the day and working with intricate components and repetitive finger motion
  • Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate with engineers and production staff and interpret engineering process documentation following a step by step process
  • Good eyesight with or without vision aids; you must not be colour blind
  • An understanding of continuous improvement and why it is so important to an organisation
  • An understanding of working within a highly customer focused environment
  • Knowledge of working within an ISO 2000 quality environment where only the highest standards are accepted
  • Awareness of best practice health and safety principles

You will be working a basic 37.5 hour week as follows - Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:00 and Friday 07:30 - 13:00.
